Settling in...

This has been a long long time coming and something tells me that our lives just aren't meant to slow down. But inevitably they are. Through shear work we are forcing our lives to settle down. Brian and I have been so tired. But I think it's just the rebound process of years of transition and stress. We have been in our new home now for almost two months and last nite was our first nite home with just our kids. It was peaceful and awkward as we are so used to having company and live-in family around. Last night was also our first snow. Very early and very light. None the less, the children are all outside and I'm enjoying the quiet coffee break that every Sunday deserves.
We love being back to the peninsula. We have spent many more days than expected at the hospital where Brian and I both used to work. My mother was in a severe car accident four days after we closed on both our homes. It was a blessing to be moved into our new home and close to the hospital. It's been a long haul for her but last nite she spent her first nite back at her cabin. She'll be back at our house through the rest of the month as we search for a new truck, more accessible home, and finish up her medical stuff.
Highlights of the last few months have been seeing old friends, relaxing into the slower pace of life, berry picking, watching a spectacular display of northern lights, and taking the time to witness all the beauty of wildlife/ clouds/ and seasons out my front window. Priceless!!!!
